The Beginning

After our first five years of marriage my husband and I decided it was time to start a family. To be honest Kyle did not want children and I of course wanted a herd. We compromised and decided to have one child. Kyle was hoping the baby would be a cute little girl and would need her mom more than her dad. I am a believer in karma and I think the lord heard this statement and decided that since this would be my only pregnancy we would be blessed with twins and that they would be boys.

Sonogram number one at 3-4 months pregnant only showed one baby so imagine my surprise at six months when our doctor said the reason you are so large (I had complained that I should not be this big already) is because look there is baby A and baby B. The next statement was and oh yeah they are boys. I nearly fell off the table and was in tears. Kyle however was a proud peacock because according to him he made two boys.

We had met at the doctor's office for the sonogram after work so I had to drive home in total distress, the reason for my tears where many. As a teacher and a mechanic we are not blessed with a lot of money so my first reaction was how are we going to afford twins? Two daycare payments, diapers, formula, and the racing in my mind began and to this day it has not stopped. The second reason for my tears was because I grew up with twins, I have identical twin sisters who are one year and nine months younger than me. So, I knew what I was in for as far as no sleep, diapers and more diapers, no rest, no time for myself, and the list went on. At that time we had no family near us only neighbors and friends. Kyle was oblivious to all of this and was remarkably up beat about the whole thing. For some strange reason the Lord decided we needed these two little boys in our lives and he was absolutely correct. They are the best of both of us and the reason I was put on this earth.
